Once a month our church feeds 300-350 people at the River of Life Women’s and Children Shelter in Boise. The members of our congregation provide their time as servers as well as providing baked goods, food and funds.
Red Cross Blood Drives
Blood Drives are coordinated through the Red Cross and held at our location to help maintain a blood supply for patients who need blood. Since we became a blood collection center our church has collected over 1,100 units of blood.
Eagle Food Bank
Every month we collect food for the Eagle Food Bank to help local families who are in need. We are one of the biggest supporters of the local food bank, collecting hundreds of bags of food each year.
Free Wheelchair Mission
We participate in the Free Wheelchair Mission to provide wheelchairs to people in developing nations. To date, our congregation has donated almost 1,000 wheelchairs. The gift of mobility is empowering for someone already suffering with the pain, inconvenience and exclusion caused by a physical disability.
Each year we provide the opportunity for members of our congregation to sponsor a child through Compassion International. Our church and its members are currently sponsoring 70 children in third world countries, helping them with food, education and medical care.
Water of Life
This past year, Eagle UMC has made it possible for over 100 families to have clean water for the next 60 years through Compassion International’s Water of Life program. Unsanitary water is one of the chief causes of death and disease in third world countries.
