DESCRIPTION:We are planning to have an all-church auction on Friday\, June 1\, the last day of school. There will be a dinner as well as both silent and live auction components.   \nHere’s what you can do to help. \n\nPlan to attend. This will be a fun event. Not only should you plan to attend\, but you should be thinking about friends you can invite. Set aside the date now.\nThink about what you can donate. Be creative. We will want small items as well as large. In the past\, large items have included things like cars\, generators\, power washers\, art\, use of vacation homes and cabins. People have also auctioned things like services and homemade goods. Some of these donations have included: a knitted sweater of your choice\, a fancy dinner for eight people with live music\, a guided hunting trip\, homemade bread and jam each month for a year\, an offer to paint the inside of your house (you provide the paint). Again\, be creative.\n\nAlso\, be sure to set the minimum price you are willing to have your donation go for. If you donate a car worth $7\,000 you might not be willing to see it sold for $1\,000. Let us know. Also\, if you are providing a dessert a month for a year\, you might be happy to do so for $200\, but not for $50. \nAgain\, let us know. We need your help with the following: volunteers to help us organize the event\,  people to cook the meal\, handle the clean-up\, organize donations\, etc. Volunteer sign-up sheet are available at both Information Booths today! \n

DESCRIPTION:Christ in the Passover shows the link between the ancient Festival of Redemption and Christ as the Lamb of God—church members will never forget it! This sermonic demonstration is visual\, so the congregation will actually see a table set with traditional Passover items. The missionary uses Scripture as well as the visual items to walk through a Jewish Passover Seder\, weaving the story of the Exodus together with the life\, death and resurrection of Christ. The words He spoke in the upper room come alive as each Hebraic item is carefully explained.   We will be celebrating Holy Communion following this presentation.

DESCRIPTION:Due to CoVid\, we couldn’t do our Easter Egg hunt last Spring\, nor can we do our Halloween Party and potluck this Fall. We did come up with a fun alternative that we hope our kids will enjoy. On Halloween Saturday\, October 31\, at 10:00 AM we will be gathering in our amphitheater for a Halloween Easter Egg Hunt!  This event will be open to the children of our church and their friends (we hope you will invite your friends)\, but we will not be advertising it to the general public.  It will be a fun time for kids to seek out eggs and learn about the resurrection of our Lord Jesus.  It will be a reduced hunt with all activities taking place outside.  We already have the candy\, but we do need some volunteers to stuff eggs for us.  If\nyou are interested in helping\, please contact the church office at (208) 939-0108.

DESCRIPTION:All families with children at home are invited to participate in a car rally on Sunday\, January 31. We will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall at noon. Our version of a car rally works like this. Your family unit will be given a set of clues and directions to follow (they won’t be easy\, but they won’t be too hard either).  Along the way you will have questions to answer. You will end up at a surprise destination. The group that finishes with the best time and mileage and with the most questions answered wins. Lunch will be provided\, before we go. Social distancing and other safety protocols will be followed.

SUMMARY:UMCOR COVID-19 Response Fund
DESCRIPTION:COVID-19 presents challenges to every person and community\, but some are less prepared than others. As restrictions limiting employment\, economic activity\, and physical gathering have spread around the world\, communities which live at subsistence levels have no safety net and their governments have little capacity to respond to the challenges. \nIn recent weeks\, there have been desperate requests for assistance from pastors serving in Africa and the Philippines whose churches\, like so many around the world\, have not met for several weeks. These churches likely will not be meeting for a season. These pastors as well as their people\, because of the financial impact of quarantines\, are immediately dealing with food insecurity. \nThe United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) has established the COVID-19 response fund for the purpose of responding to the challenges presented by this pandemic. This fund will equip partners around the world to assist the most vulnerable populations. Grants from the fund will be disbursed quickly and efficiently to address health concerns\, food insecurity\, water and hygiene limitations\, and other pressing needs. \nYou can respond to these pressing needs by making a gift to the UMCOR COVID-19 response fund. Your gift will be a tangible expression of the love Christ has for the most vulnerable who do not have a safety net and need compassion and care as a result of the pandemic.  \nHow can you give? You can give by writing a check to our church and marking it UMCOR COVID 19 response. You can mail or deliver it to our church. We are also working to allow you to give to this cause through our website. That ability should be available soon. Whichever way you give\, remember\, when you give through UMCOR\, 100% of your gift gets there. Administrative costs are picked up elsewhere.
